FULL SYNOPSIS

Ivan and Petar arrive in Stockholm escaping from a hostile environment where they find themselves alone and helpless. Their struggle is the search for freedom understood as a place where they can live peacefully and create roots, find friends, a job, a place to belong to, ultimately where they can create a new life for themselves…
That’s why they find themselves here now.
Inge has been living here for years and welcomes and facilitates the entry of these newcomers. She, who works for inclusion, is not exempt from prejudices; who would have thought? Are we all on the margins? But she’s also missing something.
And Tarik, the fourth member in discord, arrived months ago and he constantly struggles, as the two brothers are also beginning to do in an incipient way, between the hope of being in a new world and the despair of seeing that days pass and their conditions don’t change.

Because… what do we expect when we create certain expectations? Do they always correspond with the reality of what we can find? How much time do we give each hope to become effective? Is it just that, a matter of time, what makes it move forward if we haven’t abandoned it by the wayside?

And when you lower your guard you can take a false step… And when you give everything to achieve your goal, often, suddenly, the consequences appear… because the body is strong, but the mind, from time to time, decides to stop…

The four characters in this story, for various reasons, cling to the same thing, dream and believe that sooner or later what they seek will come to pass. Inge hopes for love; Tarik to integrate into society; Ivan to find peace and a good life for him and his brother; and Petar, not to enter the adult world without having gone through the stages that correspond to him; he is, perhaps, the most impatient of all.

The play, ultimately, questions us about whether hope really is the last thing to be lost, and opens a reflection around, when this is lost, what remains for us? Well, perhaps resignation, or dejection. And when we fall into this spiral, then… only silence remains for us..

AUTHOR’S WORDS

Hi ha històries que et persegueixen…
2018.
Un article,
Una foto al World Press Photo.
Un tema totalment desconegut.
M’impacta
Em sacseja
Soroll al meu cap
Estridència a tot arreu
